The members of Andante Strings enjoy performing professionally in a variety of musical settings: weddings, special events, symphony orchestras, theatre productions, and benefit concerts to name a few. It is our joy and honor to enhance your event with our music.
Christa Berezowskyj (violin)
A lifelong enthusiastic music-maker, Christa received her Bachelor of Music Education degree from Susquehanna University in Pennsylvania and her Performer's Certificate from the University of Connecticut. Besides Andante Strings, Christa performs as a principal violinist with Harmonia, the new string ensemble of the GMChorale in Middletown, Connecticut. In addition to performing, Christa enjoys teaching violin and piano in her home studio and at the Rectory School in Pomfret, CT. She lives in Tolland, CT with her husband, daughter, and dog.
Selah Kwak (violin)
Selah enjoys performing with others in many settings, with the quartet being among her favorites. She began playing violin at age 7 and soon after started studying at the Hartt School Community Division. She received her BA from Gettysburg College, where she double majored in Psychology and Music and a MM in Violin Performance and Suzuki Pedagogy at the University of Hartford. She is currently working towards her Graduate Professional Diploma at the University of Hartford. In her free time, Selah enjoys hiking, traveling, and being around her pets (one dog, three ducks, 12 chickens).
Dana Saccomano (violin & viola)
Dana Saccomano has been playing the violin and viola since she was in elementary school. She currently teaches elementary strings in East Hartford, CT and previously taught high school Orchestra in Norwalk, CT. She holds her MM in Violin Performance, BS in Music Education, and BA in Music from the University of Connecticut. Dana also enjoys performing in local orchestras, opera companies, musical theater companies, etc. She lives in Vernon, CT with her husband, two sons, and two cats.
Shannon Carlson (cello)
Originally from New York, Shannon has lived and worked in Connecticut since 2006. Though she is primarily a sixth grade classroom teacher, making music with others is what brings her the most joy. Since moving to CT, she has been fortunate enough to meet and play with wonderful musicians in symphonic and pit orchestras and various small ensemble settings. She holds degrees from Vassar College, the University of Hartford, and Central Connecticut State University. Shannon lives in South Windsor, CT with her husband and two children.
